Tommy John’s 1,500th Strikeout

April 25, 1978: Tommy John strikes out Dave Collins in B8 for his 1,500th of his career.  Tommy John ended his career with 2,245 strikeouts. 

George Foster was struggling at the beginning of the 1978 season after winning the MVP Award the year before. Grandma lets us now that, “Foster had Sto 20 times before this game (none today) thank goodness.”
