Steve Carlton’s 4,000th Strikeout

Aug. 5, 1986: Steve Carlton struck out Eric Davis in T3 for his 4,000th career strikeout. I smile when I read her game notes, “before g. Carlton’s 3997 sto. Now 3998 & 3999 in 2I. Now in 3I Carlton got his 4000 sto all in National League”. She appreciated and respected all players milestones and records. He ended his career with 4,136 strikeouts. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994.
