Joe Morgan becomes 3rd member of the 20/50 club

Aug. 26, 1973: Joe Morgan hits a 2-run home run for his 20th on the season in T7 off Reggie Cleveland. He became the 3rd player, along with Lou Brock and Cesar Cedeno to hit 20 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season. He ended the 1973 season with 26 home runs and 67 stolen bases.
May 1, 1980: Grandma didn’t appreciate the Reds fans booing Joe Morgan on his return to Riverfront after being traded to the Astros. He went 2 for 4, 1 R, 3 RBI, BB. He hit a 2-run home run in T5 off Mike LaCoss and was named star of the game and she wrote, “I’m so glad!! I’m truly ashamed of the fans for the way they booed Morgan.” He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990.
